Outer Island Excursions offers private charters for groups as small as one person up to over 200 people. Our large fleet offers the flexibility and range needed to explore the most remote reaches of the San Juan Islands and deep into Canadian waters. We can pick up your group from any island in the San Juans, Anacortes, Bellingham, and beyond. Rates are dependent on number of guests, departure location, the length of charter, and customizations.

Island Hopping
Explore the far reaches of the San Juan's! From the shopping and restaurants in Friday Harbor to the many unpopulated islands of State Parks there's tons to see and do while you hop from Island to Island exploring the best the San Juan's have to offer.
Outer Island prides itself on its high percentage of whale sightings. We travel all around the San Juans and even into the Canadian Gulf Islands. Come with us on our high-speed fleet of boats and view the whales with our knowledgeable crew. We recommend 4 hours for the best chance of success.
Whale Watching
Lighthouse Tour
Patos Island, Turn Point, Cattle Point, Lime Kiln, and many more historic lighthouses still operate today as navigational beacons to ships in the Salish Sea. A tour focused on the local history is a great way to experience the dynamic scenery of our area.
Corporate Events
Large group whale watches, island hopping, adventure tours, and transport are our specialty. With boats available for comfortable cruising to sporty adventures there's a perfect fit for your group. We can take groups of as few as six people all the way up to over 150!
Bird Watching
Enjoy a search for pelagic birds in obscure coves and backwaters of the San Juan Islands. Search for Tufted Puffins, Harlequin Ducks, Bald Eagles, Black Oystercatchers, Rhinoceros Auklets, Marbled and Ancient Murrelets, many gull species, and much more!
Wedding Celebrations

Seasoned fishermen know you need time and patience for your best chance of success. We recommend at least 3-4 hours for bottom fishing, 4-5 hours for salmon fishing, and 4-5 hours for a combo of bottom fishing and crabbing. Crabbing
Dropping pots for Dungeness crab is a great addition to a bottom fishing charter. It is especially great for kids since it has that same thrill of opening up a present when you see the pot come back to the surface! We recommend at least 4-5 hours for a combination fishing & crabbing trip.
